Mother Ivey’s Bay

Located between Newquay and Padstow on the North Cornish coast, the beach is characterized by a pleasant sandy shore sheltered beneath steep cliffs. With the beach being somewhat hidden from view due to the above caravan site, it is usually fairly quiet – perfect for a peaceful walk with your pup.

The walk from Harlyn to the beach takes about twenty minutes and you can also access the beach directly from the caravan site. Even when the caravan site is full the beach is rarely too crowded. The area is steeped in history and legend, though the beach is known to locals only as Polventon Beach. It was only recently renamed Mother Ivey’s Bay after the legend of a local white witch who cursed a family.

All of this is sure to add to the adventure of taking your pup out for a walk at this beach.
