At Watcombe Beach, you’ll find a stunning rural cove nestled in a sheltered position just to the north of Babbacombe. The terrain offers a delightful combination of sand, rocks, and fine red shingle, topped off by breathtaking views of Babbacombe Bay and Watcombe Head. However, do be aware that the cliffs here can be unstable and rockfalls may occur. From May to September, there’s a toilet and cafe open, and you’re welcome to bring your pooch along for a beach stroll at any time of year. Just remember that the access steps to the beach have been damaged and the beach is currently closed, so all facilities are also closed. When it comes to parking your car, you’ll need to make use of the pay-for car park at the end of Moor Lane in Watcombe. It’s a bit of a steep descent from there to the beach, so travel can be difficult for those with mobility issues.
