Hidden to the east of Dodman Point, Vault Beach offers a secluded escape with long stretches of fine shingle and sand. Although located just around the corner from the popular village of Gorran Haven, Vault beach has become increasingly popular over the past few years. It is also a well-known spot for naturists, with the more secluded southern end of the beach being the favoured destination for nude bathing. Accessing the beach isn’t always straightforward, though. The best approach is from the end nearest Gorran, as the alternative is a scramble down the steep cliffs. While no lifeguard service is maintained at Vault, the beach is generally quite safe with a gently shelving sand and sheltered aspect.
