This beautiful beach is a family favorite. Offering striking views of both Brownsea Island and the Purbeck Hills, it comprises of a gently sloping, shelving shoreline with clear, clean water. It is often calmer than the nearby Sandbanks beach. You can monitor its popularity using the Beach Check app too! Along the promenade, you will find plenty of facilities for your convenience, including ice cream kiosks, a café and drinking water stations. Beach huts can also be hired, and if you’re travelling with children, you’ll be glad to know that a lost children patrol is present and active. There is a Surface Car Park, complete with 72+ spaces beside the beach entrance and accessible parking for those with additional needs. Easy access to the sand is provided by ramps, as well as disabled toilets with a baby changing/family room. Sand wheelchairs are also available. If you’re planning on taking a swim, lifeguard cover is provided from late May Bank Holiday until the start of September, and a safe swim zone is designated with a clearly marked. Guests who enjoy a little more adrenaline can also explore activities such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, jet-skiing, and sailing. Please note that between July and August, certain activities such as cycling, skating, skateboarding, and e-scooters are limited. BBQ use is restricted and visitors must abide by the safe disposal guidelines. Open fires and camping are not allowed at any time.
