Stretching for over a mile, it feels like a secluded bay, but at low tide, it expands to an impressive two miles connecting to Exmouth. Close to Exeter and neighbouring the Devon Cliffs caravan resort, Sandy Bay is a popular spot especially in the summer season. Just west of Sandy Bay, you can find Orcombe rocks – a prestigious heritage site renowned for the fossils found there.
