Between the harbour of Penzance and the conclusion of the Promenade at Wherrytown, there are a few lovely beaches that are perfect for exploring. Low tides will reveal a band of sand and shingle running along the front of the Promenade, however swimming here isn’t recommended due to the rocky foreshore. If you’re looking for a swimming spot, head to Battery Rocks (behind the Jubilee Pool) for steps leading down to the water. This is a wonderful spot since the waters are quite sheltered and safe for swimming, though unsupervised. If you dare to explore further, you’ll even discover a hidden patch of sand appearing only on low tide which is an ideal place to relax – and its a real rarity to find somebody else here. Regardless of what you desire for your beach holiday, you’ll find it here.
