Man Sands is a truly idyllic pebble beach, with a unique sand expanse that can be seen during low-tide. Though it cannot be accessed by car, it is conveniently located either through a walk along the coastal path from Sharkham Point, or through a serene 1km walk from the Woodhuish Lane car park. It is advised, regrettably, that persons with mobility difficulties should not attempt to access this paradise. The blissful beach is bordered by breathtaking grassy hills and rocky slopes either side, making it a popular spot to explore when the tide is out, with many intriguing coves and rock pools to investigate. Behind the beach lies a lagoon formed from the sea having taken charge of the area, transforming it into a magnificent nature haven with bird hides and National Trust information boards dotted around. It’s even possible to spot grass snakes swimming in the waters! At one side of the beach is Crabrock Point – a great area for taking shelter, yet on higher tides, please be aware of the potential for rip currents. It’s worth noting that, due to this beach’s rural setting- there are no facilities available here, so it’s wise to plan ahead and have everything you need for a safe and comfortable day.
