Located on the outskirts of Dawlish, Coryton Cove (which used to be called Gentleman’s Cove) is a beautiful, secluded beach. With its soft, golden sands and striking iron-red Devon rock cliffs, this crescent-shaped beach makes for the perfect getaway. Swimmers will be pleased to know that bathing is allowed here, although a lifeguard service is not provided. Children can look for marine life in the rock pools visible at low tide – you may even catch a glimpse of dolphins! Onsite facilities include a café and beach huts for hire. While there are no toilets at Coryton, Boat Cove across the bay does have disabled facilities. For more shops, pubs and restaurants, visit the centre of Dawlish. The beach is accessible from the nearby South West Coast Path, with roadside parking available on Marine Parade and a car park in Coronation Avenue also close by.
