Chesil Beach is a beach in Dorset, England.

Chesil beach is a special and remarkable sight – extending almost 17 miles along the coastline from Portland to West Bay it stands out with a bank of pebbles rising to fifty feet (15m) in height and 600 feet (180m) wide. As you move along the beach you’ll notice the pebbles get larger the closer you get to Portland. The eastern portion of the beach is adjacent to the Fleet Lagoon, a significant conservation area. During World War II this area was used to test Barnes Wallis’ bouncing bomb. Today the lagoon is a protected habitat of rich and varied wildlife.
