Manor Steps beach, on the East of Boscombe Pier, is characterised by its tranquil atmosphere and sandy shorelines. Wooden groynes stretch out to the sea, while the white cliffs of Hengistbury Head are in sight. Behind the beach, low-rise wooded cliffs provide a picturesque backdrop. The recent £2.4 million renovation of Boscombe Pier is a haven for young visitors, offering musical installations and ‘fish-friendly’ mini-golf with biodegradable golf balls. Further along the seafront promenade, 15 new beach huts – Bournemouth Beach Lodges – are available for overnight bookings for groups of up to six. This beach is also popular with locals looking to enjoy the sand, explore the waves and soak up the coastal views from the promenade. Pedestrian access is provided by a zig-zag path with steps leading from Boscombe Overcliff Drive, alternatively Fisherman’s Walk Cliff Lifts operate between Easter and the end of October. Convenient amenities, such as restaurants, are nearby.
