Welcome to West Beach, a lovely tranquil cove nestled at the mouth of the River Brit – about 1.5 miles from Bridport. This smaller beach is safer than East Beach for children to play in the water due to the calm waters, which are excellent for spotting fish, crabs and other sealife. The Jurassic Pier, which is an impressively long 240 metres, is wheelchair accessible and brimming with seating – plus a restored 18th century cannon! For those looking for somewhere budget-friendly to park, there’s a car park 5 minutes from the beach, just to the left of the mini-roundabout as you drive into the village. With plenty of eateries surrounding the harbour area, and a range of other activities to do such as boat trips, walking paths and rowing boats for hire – West Beach is sure to make for an enjoyable day out!
