Welcome to Overcombe beach, just two miles east of Weymouth! This pristine shingle beach has a refreshingly natural feel, with no distracting buildings or development. It’s a popular spot with sunseekers, kite-surfers, kayakers and families, all of whom enjoy exploring its flat sands when the tide goes out. Swimming is considered relatively safe here too, as bathers are cleverly zoned away from watersport enthusiasts. Behind the beach you’ll find a grassy area perfect for picnics and games and, just a short while away, there’s Loadmoor Nature Reserve with its remarkable array of birds – including terns, bearded tits and warblers. There’s also Loadmoor Country Park with its miniature railway, pitch and putt and plenty of walking paths. If you fancy a bite to eat, don’t forget to stop off at the Café Oasis. And don’t forget, in peak season the free parking spots along the road soon fill up. Happy exploring!
