Southbourne Beach is a beach in Dorset, England.

Reach the sandy, gently sloping Southbourne Beach directly from Southbourne High Street, following the Fisherman’s Walk nature trail to the cliff top where you can take in the stunning views of the beach, Hengistbury Head and, on a clear day, even the Needles cliffs on the Isle of Wight. Southbourne Beach is the perfect destination for families, and the beach’s facilities include kiosks and pubs, baby changing areas, lost children centres and, in season, the benefit of RNLI lifeguards patrolling areas clearly marked by red and yellow flags. Great food is offered at the small cafe selling hot eats and ice creams, as well as the bistro style restaurant. Rent one of the vibrant beach huts here at any time of the year, or use the free Beach Check app to check the busyness of the beach before you go. Dogs can be walked in the designated dog-friendly areas during specific seasons, and restrictions apply to activities such as cycling, skating, skateboarding and e-scooters on the promenade – likewise, certain types of barbecues are permitted, so make sure to dispose of yours considerately. The car park at Southbourne Crossroads and free parking on the cliff is available, however it is advised to arrive early as the demand is high, especially during peak times. Southbourne Beach is proud to have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award. Also, wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities with RADAR key access can be found at Gordon’s Steps and Southbourne.
